We’ve been there.

As practice owners, we knew our turnover — but not whether we were actually making money. Like most owners, we only found out how the year had really gone months later, from year-end accounts and scattered reports. Profit, cash flow, staff costs, lab bills: we couldn’t see them clearly, or early enough to act.

We didn’t know what to do next either.

So we built the tool we wished we had. Monai runs on our own practices before it reaches yours.

The People Behind Monai Tech

Co-Founders

Jabir Duale

Co-Founder

Jabir graduated from the University of Leeds School of Dentistry in 2017 and owns multiple dental practices across the North West. After building a squat practice in Manchester in 2020, he acquired a second, mixed practice in Bolton in 2023 — and through both experienced first-hand how difficult it can be for busy practice owners to truly understand the financial health of their business. Alongside practice ownership, he has worked closely with several AI-driven technologies in dentistry, including AI radiograph reporting, AI reception systems and automated stock control. That experience — building, acquiring and growing practices — led directly to the creation of Monai.

Yahya Patel

Co-Founder

Yahya graduated from the University of Leeds School of Dentistry and purchased his first dental practice in 2018 — an established NHS site in the North West. Since then he has acquired and expanded multiple practices, including growing one NHS practice from four to eight surgeries, and building a private squat practice from the ground up in 2025 that has since grown to four fully utilised surgeries. He has a strong commercial interest in practice acquisition, growth and long-term scalability, with a particular focus on marketing strategy and patient growth across both NHS and private models.

Andy Sloan

Partner & Advisor

Andy Sloan is a strategic adviser to Monai. He has spent more than 15 years at the commercial centre of UK dental consolidation. He was European Strategy Director at Henry Schein, covering 11 markets, and Managing Director at Portman Dental Care and Dental Buying Group, where he led more than 120 acquisitions. He then spent three and a half years as Managing Director, Dental EMEA at Agilio Software, and sat on the deal team for two significant private equity transactions. He founded Sloan Strategic Advisory to give dental and healthcare businesses an independent voice from someone who has done the deals.

Mohammed Patel

Financial Advisory Lead

Mohammed is an ACA-qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. After seven years training in audit practice, he moved into industry as Lead Financial Accountant for a group of dental practices, giving him direct experience of the financial and operational challenges facing growing healthcare businesses. At Monai, he helps shape the financial reporting and accounting logic behind the platform, with a focus on making financial information clearer, more useful, and easier for practice owners to act on.

Haroon Rashid

Growth & Strategy

Haroon is a former board-level marketing executive with over 15 years’ experience helping businesses grow through clearer positioning, stronger strategy and more effective marketing. He has led international marketing activity across multiple markets and worked with founders and growing businesses to simplify complex ideas into clear, commercially effective messaging. At Monai, he supports the company’s growth, positioning and communication strategy, with a particular focus on helping practice owners clearly understand the value and insight the platform provides.
